Here's a beautiful, working 1923 Aeriola Sr. regenerative radio. The set has been expertly, lovingly restored, and it comes with a good 864 tube (1.1 volt WD-11 equivalent). Looking pretty much like it did the day that it was made more than a century ago, the radio will be ready to display and play as soon as it arrives.
As you can see in the photos, the radio is gorgeous. The panel is perfect, with no scratches, no scarring, no dull or muddy areas, and lettering that's crisp and clear everywhere.
Nickel-plated parts are likewise in excellent condition -- clean and gleaming . There's no rust, no corrosion, no problems. The binding posts, the panel screws, the screws securing the parts on the underside of the panel to the bakelite -- all of this hardware is still bright and clean.
Inside, the chassis looks like you'd expect given the condition of the exterior. The socket contacts have been modified to accommodate the pin-out of the 864 tube, but the tuner and rheostat are "as issued" and in excellent condition, with no problems.
The cabinet is likewise in excellent condition, with a smooth a finish on all sides, and an immaculate instruction card pinned to the underside of the lid. The card is a photo-replica, and as you can see in the pictures I've posted above, it's identical and essentially indistinguishable from an original lid card except that -- unlike an original lid card -- it doesn't look like it was just pulled up from the bottom of Lake Michigan.
Overall, a beautiful Westinghouse box radio set that's ready to go, without need for clean-up, repair or apologies.
If you want to operate the set, you'll need a regulated DC power supply (I'd recommend an ARBEIII), a longwire outdoor antenna (ham radio type; at least 100 feet long and 20 feet off the ground) and a pair of vintage high impedance headphones. It will also help to have had some experience tuning a 20's battery set.
In the video above, for demonstration purposes, the radio is connected to its matching AC amplifier, which is being listed separately. You are buying only the radio.
