Offered for sale is an original c1910 Harvard University tobacco leather from the L40 College Pennant, Yell & Emblem series.
This large-format tobacco premium measures approximately 3.5” × 2.5” and features a striking Harvard crimson and silver design.
The elaborate image features a large “H” pennant, a central historical portrait, crossed sporting implements, and an early Harvard college yell prominently incorporating “HARVARD!” and repeated “Rah, Rah, Rah” cheers.
The combination of the college pennant, school yell and emblematic imagery identifies this as an example from the L40 College Pennant, Yell & Emblem tobacco leather series.
The rich crimson background and metallic silver design make this an especially attractive early piece of Harvard and Ivy League memorabilia.
Condition: Original antique condition with age-related surface wear, light crazing/cracking, minor spotting and edge/corner wear. There is a small indentation/notch along the upper edge. The silver finish shows some age-related wear but remains strong, with the pennant, portrait and Harvard yell clearly visible.
No cleaning or restoration has been attempted.
