This item for sale is what is currently believed to be the only publicly documented, fully intact physical copy of the mid-century Nintendo Austin Reed corporate promotional playing card deck.
ABSOLUTE "GHOST STATUS" RARITY:
Zero Internet Footprint: You can search every major secondary marketplace, historical sale house, and vintage archive on earth—there are zero active listings, zero past sales records, and zero indexed image previews of this deck anywhere on the public internet.
The Wiki "Ghost" Reference: While the backend servers of the Nintendo Fandom Wiki log a skeleton entry proving a physical collector once held a deck to upload unindexed image names, a public, searchable archive of these cards simply does not exist online. You are looking at an unarchived piece of gaming and fashion history.
The Background: These cards were discovered safely tucked away inside a set of vintage wooden bridge boards. Because they spent the last half-century shielded inside duplicate bridge equipment, the cards have remained remarkably flat, structural, and uniform.
Honest Condition Notes: As a museum-tier piece of unarchived history, absolute transparency is vital. Please review the high-resolution photos carefully to note two specific characteristics of natural aging:
Ace of Hearts Flaw: The Ace of Hearts features a physical chip/tear on its top-left corner, along with a minor crease line extending downward from that edge (prominently documented in the close-up listing photos).
Vintage Center Fading: There is a gentle, natural aging/fading of the white background tone around the central areas of the cards, consistent with light, historic handling during mid-century card play before they were safely stored away.
The Verdict: Aside from these honest notes, the remainder of the deck shows beautiful, crisp edges, exceptional structural integrity, and wonderfully preserved red, yellow, and Regency Blue lithographic inks. (Note: This listing is for the loose 52-card deck as recovered; it does not include an original cardboard tuck box).
The Historical "Cursive N" Ace of Spades: The definitive hallmark of mid-century authenticity. The center of the spade pip features Nintendo's celebrated, vintage cursive "N" insignia enclosed inside a fine-line circle. This elegant emblem was Nintendo’s primary brand signature for its western-style trump and poker decks from the 1950s through the mid-1960s, predating their modern video game logos by decades.
Masterful Showa-Era Printing: The court cards (King, Queen, Jack) utilize Nintendo's unique, stylized variation of the traditional Goodall/De La Rue international patterns, showcasing vibrant, razor-sharp ink registration unique to Nintendo's Kyoto factory presses from this timeline.
