A 11 x 10 x 7cm calcite specimen from Yunnan Province, China, weighing 748g (1.6 lbs). Sharp, dagger-like scalenohedral calcite crystals radiate outward in dense rosette clusters, giving the piece a spiky \"sea urchin\" or porcupine-quill look — very different in character from smooth or blocky calcite. The crystals are glassy and translucent with a warm honey-cream tone that catches light beautifully along each pointed facet. Two main crystal domes sit side by side on a druzy calcite base, creating good visual rhythm and a sense of natural growth. A tactile, dimensional piece that photographs dramatically from multiple angles thanks to the crystal points.
