Nippon Hand Painted Wild Roses & Beaded Hair Receiver & Trinket Box 1891 - 1921Pretty porcelain footed hair receiver and trinket box / powder jar. Both are decorated with hand painted pink and white wild roses over a pink, peach, and green background. With an Art Deco border along the edge in green, blue green, and gold gilding with gold beads. The small feet are painted yellow with gold gilt highlights. Marked on the bottom Imperial Nippon. Some sources online state this is a fake Nippon mark; however, this mark is listed on page 95 of Van Patten\'s ABC\'s of Collecting Nippon Porcelain as an authentic Nippon mark. The Nippon era of Japanese porcelain was between 1891 and 1921. The lid of the hair receiver has a 7/8 inch hairline extending off the opening. This does not appear to visible from the top of the lid on display. Also has some wear to the gilding on both pieces, but no other chips or cracks. Both pieces measure approximately 4 inches wide x 2 3/8 inches tall. These are antiques and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the pieces. DR
