All Hand-carved elephant opium pillow measuring 16 inches long, 4.5 inches tall and 5.5 inches wide. Most likely crafted in China this piece dates back to the 19th into the earliest 20th century. Opium dens/opium were banned by 1910. This guy has a deep reddish brown color, brass eyes and tusks. I’m unsure the type of wood. He’s quite beautiful and weighs a tad over 5 pounds.
