TORTURED BRUTALISM!BRUTALIST BRONZE
BALLERINA SCULPTURE!
AFTER ALBERTO GIACOMETTI
POLISHED LUCITE BASE
DIMENSIONS: Height: 14\" Width: 6\"This beautiful bronze work is a marvelous exampleof the sixties brutalist movement in fine art sculpture!
Tortured metal is stretched and worked with an eye towards perspective.
The figure\'s arms are extended; she invites the eye to travel
up her slender legs to chest and follow her impossibly long arms. How close you get to her, determines whether she retreats or advances, The light caresses and touches her mottled, gnarled and molten surfaces, casting shadows and sculpting space in and outside the figure.
Very much in tune with some of Giacometti\'s finest works,as bronze is worked and tortured to show onlya fraction of reality. Truly mid century Brutalist artistry!
Gorgeous vintage condition. Displays beautifully!A wonderful art addition to your NY penthouse,Palm Springs atomic ranch or Cape Cod estate!
