This cabinet style photo features a woman by the name of Nellie (Betts) Green (1875 - 1967) who was born in LaPorte City, Iowa, to Lyman and Sarah Ellen (O\'Harrager?) Betts. According to Green family history, she married Henry Ward Green in LaPorte City, Iowa, in 1895. They had their children while in Iowa, later moving to Seward County, Nebraska, where they remained and where they are buried.This photo is displayed in a nice easel style folding folder that became popular in the 1940s and 1950s. The \"Victor\" mark stamped on the back of the folder was stamped on the paper stock by the manufacturing company. Written on the back, in my handwriting is, \"Probably Dick Green\'s mother...\" This photo came to me with entire photo collection of Dick Green\'s daughter (and only child), and I am confident in the identification because I had other photos to compare it to. I am rather sorry for my obtrusive writing on the photo folder, but at the time I was intent on identification. This is a lovely little photo presentation folder with a nice circa 1940\'s photo of a matronly woman who made her contribution to growth of the community of Seward, Nebraska. Whether for a family or community connection, this would fit nicely into a collection.
