This is a vintage Art Deco travel manicure case, likely dating from the 1930s or 1940s.

It is crafted from a swirled orange-butterscotch celluloid or Bakelite plastic, a classic material choice for vanity items of that era. The front is beautifully decorated with a painted scene of a green parrot perched on a branch beneath a cluster of dark spots representing foliage or fruit. Cases like this were specifically engineered as compact pocket companions, cleverly hinging open or pulling apart to tightly house essential personal grooming tools, including small metal nail clippers and a matching cuticle and nail tool.
