Offered is an authentic antique Hubley cast iron “Double Footmen” doorstop, catalog No. 272, designed by noted British illustrator Anne Fish.
This highly collectible early 20th-century doorstop features two English footmen standing shoulder to shoulder in their distinctive red uniforms with gold trim. It retains attractive original painted surface with honest age-related wear that collectors expect to see on an original example.
The back is correctly impressed 272, and the base bears the Anne Fish signature, identifying this as one of Hubley’s desirable Anne Fish designs.
