Condition
Original November 22, 1963 newspaper with expected age-related toning and handling wear. Paper remains highly displayable with a bold, complete “KENNEDY DEAD” headline and Kennedy photograph. Original horizontal fold is present. There is edge wear, small tears/chipping, and a more noticeable torn/chipped area along the right edge of the front page affecting a portion of the assassination news column; please review close-up photos carefully. Interior pages show typical age toning, folds and minor edge wear. No restoration has been performed.
This surviving issue consists of 8 pages. The masthead of the regular Valley Times edition references 40 pages, but this item is the special EXTRA as shown and contains the 8 pages photographed.
Includes the rigid protective newspaper holder shown in the photos.
Protective holder included
The newspaper will be sold with the rigid clear protective holder shown in the photographs. The holder provides firm support and helps reduce bending, creasing and unnecessary handling during storage.
The holder is a modern rigid PVC protector and is not represented as archival or acid-free storage. A future owner who intends long-term museum-style preservation may wish to transfer the newspaper to an archival polyester/Mylar or other conservation-grade enclosure.
