1817 Indenture Lease – Wendell T. Ham & Mary Livingston, Columbia County, NY – 90-Acre Farm Transfer
Approximately 26" by 8" Tears at center seam.
Original 1817 handwritten indenture lease between Mary Livingston of Columbia County, New York, and Wendell T. Ham for a 90-acre farm formerly owned by Jacob Melick. This beautifully preserved land lease outlines the rental and usage terms for the property, including its location bounded by the farms of William Otis, Dr. M.L. Clapp, and others. Signed on April 9, 1817, the document details a five-year lease agreement at a rent of four fat live hens and twenty-six dollars annually. Rich with early 19th-century legal phrasing and handwritten signatures, this is a fine piece of Columbia County and early New York land history.
