Amethyst stalactite slices are cross-section cuts of rare, icicle-like mineral formations that grow inside massive volcanic geodes, primarily found in the Artigas region of Uruguay and parts of Brazil.
When these protruding formations are sliced and polished, they reveal breathtaking, concentric agate rings at the core surrounded by a radiating crown of purple quartz crystals.
Slices from Uruguay are highly prized for their deep, intense \"grape\" purple coloration and highly defined inner agate banding.
High-quality display specimens are typically polished on both flat sides to maximize transparency, while leaving the external crystal points completely raw and tactile.
Formed over millennia in volcanic pockets and mineral-rich caves. A unique stalactitic crystal growth!
