Historical ContextThis marking is found on vintage German rifle scopes from the interwar period (primarily the 1920s).
- The Company Connection: The optics manufacturer Dr. Walter Gérard (originally based in Charlottenburg, Berlin) produced prominent sporting and military scopes prior to and during World War I.
- The Acquisition: Around 1920 or 1921, the Landlicht company took over the production and sale of Gérard scopes. [1]
- The Marking: Scopes produced during this transitional era are often marked on the top or on the base of the elevation adjustment wheel with \"Gerard Landlicht\" or \"Landlicht Zielfernrohrbau Berlin
