This Ektachrome 35mm slide captures a vibrant street scene, a parade or community event, featuring a dark green 1968 Mercury Cougar and a silver 1968 Pontiac LeMans or GTO. The cars display red license plates, with "VICK" on the Cougar and "TWL" on the Pontiac. The setting is identified by a prominent sign for "MT.HOPE LIQUOR STORE" and a street sign reading "MT HOPE ST", placing the event in Mount Hope. A law enforcement officer in uniform directs traffic or observes the festivities, while numerous spectators, including many children, line the street. The architecture includes a two-story building with light siding and a reddish-brown roof, featuring a striped awning and a "Narragansett Lager Beer" sign.People are dressed in typical late 1960s attire, with men in collared shirts and trousers, and children in plaid shorts and polo shirts. The scene is filled with lush green trees, casting dappled shadows across the sunlit asphalt street. The Ektachrome film stock renders colors vividly, with strong greens and blues, and the image exhibits good sharpness and exposure. The slide is in excellent condition, showing minimal signs of wear or fading.
