c1960\'s Ektachrome 35mm Slide Atlantic Marine Boat Yard Fort Lauderdale Florida
The image captures a vibrant scene at the Atlantic Marine Boat Yard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, during the 1960s. A long, covered boathouse with a distinctive red and white striped roof dominates the left side of the frame, housing numerous boats within its slips. Several motorboats are visible on the water, with one white vessel in the foreground, showing its bow and mast.
The \'ATLANTIC MARINE BOAT YARD\' sign is clearly visible on the roof of a white building behind the boathouse, identifying the specific location. Further down the waterway, a round \'GULF\' sign shows a gas station or marine service point, a common sight in coastal areas of the era. The surrounding landscape features lush tropical trees and power poles, typical of the Florida coastline.
This slide offers a glimpse into the recreational boating culture and marine industry of mid-century Fort Lauderdale. The Ektachrome film stock retains some color, though it exhibits a warm, reddish cast and shows numerous dust specks and scratches, typical of vintage slides. SKU: A2-2-02
