Especially interesting is the large SINCLAIR CAMPING sign visible at left. The building at right also carries a prominent LUNCHES sign, giving the photograph a terrific early-roadside-Americana setting. The combination of Sinclair advertising, automobile travel, roadside dining/camping, vernacular portraiture and the amusing handwritten caption makes this a particularly appealing period image.
