Offered for sale is an original c1910 tobacco leather featuring the historic Seal of the Cherokee Nation.
The central gold-colored seal features the seven-pointed star and reads “Seal of the Cherokee Nation” with the date September 6, 1839, commemorating the adoption of the Cherokee Nation constitution following removal to Indian Territory.
This piece appears to be from the L23 seal series of tobacco leathers, which included state and related governmental seals from the early 1900s.
The leather has an attractive purple/burgundy background with gold seal detail and presents nicely overall for its age. Please review the photo carefully for exact condition.
An unusual early Cherokee Nation / Native American / Indian Territory tobacco-era collectible.
You will receive the exact tobacco leather pictured.
