About Peina family fetish carvings: Colvin Peina was a member of the acclaimed Peina family of fetish carvers. He was the son of Ernest Peina and Tina Sice, and is well known for his award winning fetish carvings. His sister, Claudia Peina, is also a renowned carver, who learned to carve from her late brother Colvin. While the work of Colvin and Claudia bear many similarities, most of Claudia\'s fetish animals are signed while Colvin\'s were not, andwe have honored the original attribution of this bear to Colvin. All of our fetish carvings were purchased from a single estate, a family of avid collectors that purchased their carvings at Zuni Pueblo or directly from the artist. Each of these fetish animals was labeled with the artists name.
