Compact and all business, the Wave Tanto pairs a traditional tsuba with a glossy black piano-lacquered saya and black cotton ito. Its 12.5\" blade is hand-forged 1080 high carbon steel, oil quench hardened to 58–60 HRC at the edge, with a hi on each side. It arrives sharp, with a full tang and fittings that come fully apart for care.

  Suited to light cutting practice such as rolled tatami omote, soft mats and water-filled bottles, where permitted by local law. Not intended for hard targets such as metal, stone or seasoned hardwood. The blade can rust if left wet: wipe it dry after handling and apply a light coat of sword oil before storing.
