**sale OVERVIEW**
Up for sale is a museum-quality, beautifully intact single-soldier historical archive tracing the wartime romance, combat deployment, and career military service of Corporal / Technician 4th Grade Glenn W. Meldrum.
Legally acquired at an Oklahoma estate sale, this archive has been kept completely whole. It provides an unbroken, highly sentimental look at domestic base life, front-line combat deployment to Europe, and the lifelong love story between Glenn and his sweetheart (later wife), Miss Marcell Juanita Corbin.
**THE UNIFORM & PATROL GEAR**
* **U.S. Army Green Class A Service Uniform Coat:** An original Cold War-era green jacket (Size 40L, Stock # 8405-965-1626) approved post-1954. This jacket represents Glenn's continued service into the 1960s. It features his post-war Specialist 5 (SP5) rank insignia, U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) assignment patch, and his hard-earned WWII combat service patch proudly sewn to the left shoulder.
* **The SHAEF Patch:** Features the iconic rainbow and flaming Crusader sword of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force (General Eisenhower’s European command).
* **Uniform Trousers:** Included with the jacket. The waistband contains the handwritten name "Edleman." This is a classic example of an authentic military laundry mark or a standard supply-room reissue from Glenn's long active-duty career.
**THE CORRESPONDENCE ARCHIVE (LETTERS & DIARY)**
* **The Chronological Letter Stack:** A massive bulk archive of handwritten letters sent by Glenn to Marcell, dating through 1943 and 1944. Envelopes are marked from the Headquarters & Headquarters Battery, Anti-Aircraft Training Center (AATC) at Fort Bliss, Texas, where Glenn tracked heavy artillery logistics.
* **The Romance Narrative:** The letters heavily detail their dating life, including an incredible June 23, 1943 letter where Glenn enclosed a vintage home-magazine clipping of a living room layout, dreaming of the house they would build together after the war.
* **The Anniversary Envelope:** A historic November 4, 1944 envelope addressed to "Mrs. Glenn Meldrum" celebrating their 1st Wedding Anniversary, which explicitly lists his unique U.S. Army serial number: 38,129,311.
* **Marcell’s 1939 Diary:** A small personal leather-bound black notebook belonging to Marcell Corbin from June 1939, detailing her thoughts and religious notes just before the war broke out.
**THE HISTORIC PHOTOGRAPHS (7-8 TOTAL)**
* **Signed 1942 Portrait:** A beautiful portrait of Glenn in his military visor cap, securely housed in its original fold-out display frame, signed in ink at the top: *"Nov. 7, 1942 – Glenn Meldrum."*
* **The Wedding Portrait:** A stunning, large portrait capturing Glenn and Marcell’s wedding day around November 1943, featuring Glenn in full WWII Olive Drab wool service dress with his Sergeant chevrons.
**LOOSE WWII INSIGNIA LOT**
* Two cut-out uniform sleeve segments featuring original WWII Anti-Aircraft Command patches sewn above his original wool Sergeant / Technician stripes.
* One loose red-and-white 65th Infantry Division patch (the combat unit Glenn deployed to Europe with, fighting through Central Europe and the Rhineland).
* One loose duplicate SHAEF patch and a Technician 4th Grade "T" rank insignia.
**RARE HISTORICAL EPHEMERA**
* **1943 Fort Bliss WAC M-1 Parody/Gag Manual:** An original, humorously typed "Confidential" parody document passed around by GIs, detailing the "Characteristics, Functioning, Care, and Preservation of the WAC, M-1" using military weapons terminology to describe female soldiers.
* **1939 Japanese Midget Submarine War Bond Ticket:** A highly collectible red admission ticket issued by the Madison County War Finance Committee to view a captured Japanese midget submarine on public tour.
* **1939 Royal Visit Certificate:** A New York World's Fair souvenir card issued to Marcell’s mother, Mrs. T. E. Corbin, certifying her presence during the historic visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth on June 10, 1939.
**CONDITION REPORT**
