This listing is for one of the most iconic WWII, OWI posters. Published in 1945 to promote the sale of War Bonds, this poster features the famous Joe Rosenthal photo of the Iwo Jima flag raising.
Measures 18.5\" x 26\". This might be the most desirable size issued as it isn\'t too large to display but big enough to make a statement.
Nice condition overall. Original fold lines as issued. Small pinholes at corner where it was originally tacked up. There is one very small tear at upper right that is barely noticeable (see photos). The kid that owned the poster during the war wrote his name, address and phone number on the reverse. It\'s in pencil but can be erased.
Along with the poster comes a 1945 certificate/citation issued by the US Treasury Department to the same child! It cities him for supporting the School Savings Program. Dated February 8, 1946.
From a smoke-free and odor-free home.
