Up for sale is an incredibly rare, museum-quality piece of American home-front history from World War II. This is a 1943 First Edition, First Printing (indicated by the correct "A" stamp on the copyright page) of "Flying Fortress: The Story of the Boeing Bomber" by Thomas Collison [image_IzOyR4.png].While the outer dust jacket shows heavy wear, the internal historical provenance of this specific copy is magnificent. The front endpapers, acknowledgment pages, and chapter introductions are heavily inscribed, acting as a personal send-off yearbook signed by over 40 individual Boeing aircraft factory personnel who physically built the B-17 bombers [image_IzOyR4.png, image_5FLEUU.png].Dating precisely to October 28, 1943, the signatures include fascinating personal details, nicknames, union ties, and company clock numbers [image_IzOyR4.png, image_XNey71.png]:
