Rare Oversized 68-Inch World War I Panoramic Photograph – Chateau-Thierry, France (1918)

Up for sale is an incredible, museum-scale piece of World War I militaria: a massive 68-inch panoramic photograph capturing the historic battlefield town of Château-Thierry, France.

Most standard commercial panoramas from this era measure between 30 and 45 inches. At nearly 6 feet in length, this oversized silver gelatin print is a rare military-issue format. These massive views were produced in highly limited quantities, typically reserved for high-ranking officers, military headquarters, or veterans\' halls rather than the general public.

This bird\'s-eye view captures the immense devastation and shelled infrastructure of Château-Thierry following the pivotal battle in July 1918.

Here, the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) alongside French troops launched a historic counter-offensive that successfully halted the German advance on Paris, marking one of the definitive turning points of the Great War.

The photo features the distinct, stylized \"CHATEAU-THIERRY\" title blocking on the left side of the print.
