Doyle Hineswas anindependent bulk distribution agentfor theSinclair Refining Companyduring the 1930s based inMexia and Groesbeck, Texas.[1,2]As an official agent for Sinclair, he managed the local distribution, marketing, and delivery of petroleum products across Limestone County. Historical records from the 1930s outline his role and contributions:[1,2,3]
- Product Distribution:He supplied local towns and agricultural operations with a massive inventory of early Sinclair products, including Sinclair Opaline motor oil, Sinclair Pennsylvania motor oil, tractor oils, gasoline, \"Super Flame\" kerosene, and axle grease.[1]
- Innovations for Farmers:He was known locally for introducing a \"Busy Farmers\" mail-order system. Farmers could use postage-paid business reply cards to list the gallons of fuel or pounds of grease they needed, and Hines would personally deliver the order to their farms within hours.[1]
- Community Footprint:Beyond his role with Sinclair, he owned land in the area and worked with county precincts on local land-terracing and infrastructure projects.[1,2]
