vintage Japanese retractable pocket tape measure keychain, likely made by a Jasper during the mid-century/Showa era. The front showcases traditional Japanese chokin style art, depicting Mount Fuji with mixed-metal accents. When you pull the metal tab at the bottom, it extends a flexible measuring tape—usually measuring up to 100 or 150 centimeters (or around 3 to 4 feet)—which automatically retracts back inside the slim metal casing. The front of the case has some scratching. The back is in good condition. Just a fun little piece still quite eye-catching. The main casing of your tape measure is approximately 1.5 inches wide (roughly 3.8 to 4 centimeters).
