Beautiful vintage hand-carved African wood decorative plaque or charger featuring different wildlife carvings on both sides. Measuring approximately 12.5” in diameter, this substantial round piece displays the character and tool marks of traditional hand carving.
One side features a large stylized African elephant with prominent tusks and trunk, surrounded by deeply incised details.
The reverse is considerably more elaborate, with a radial composition of multiple stylized African animals surrounding a central circular medallion. The deeply carved lines and dark finish create excellent contrast against the natural brown tones and visible wood grain.
