Vintage 1962 Handmade Baby Quilt – Hand‑Embroidered Nursery Scenes
A beautiful handmade 1962 baby quilt featuring hand‑embroidered nursery scenes of toddlers with animals and pets. The quilt is framed with lavender sashing and borders on a soft cream/white background, giving it that classic mid‑century charm.
Between each embroidered panel is a whimsical giraffe quilting pattern, stitched by hand. This quilt was my own baby quilt, made and signed by my mother with her name and the 1962 date embroidered along the bottom edge.
About 40 years ago, I added hand‑sewn satin ribbon loops along the top so it could be used as a nursery wall hanging. The loops will remain attached, though they can be removed easily if preferred.
Condition: There are some age‑related spots that I have not attempted to remove in order to preserve the integrity of the quilt. Overall, it remains a sweet piece with beautiful craftsmanship and authentic vintage character.
A find for collectors of handmade quilts, nursery décor, or mid‑century textiles.
