Wonderful vintage children\'s wooden PLAYMATE TOOL CHEST, believed to date approximately to the 1930s–1940s. The chest retains its attractive old red and blue painted finish with black “PLAYMATE TOOL CHEST” lettering and silhouette graphics on the lid.
The chest measures approximately 12 7/8\" wide × 5 1/4\" deep × 3 1/4\" high.
Included is the assortment of vintage tools and pieces shown in the photographs, including a hand-crank drill, squares, level and various wooden/project-made pieces. I cannot confirm that all of the tools are original to the chest, so everything is being sold together exactly as found and shown.
The wooden chest itself remains substantially intact. The rear hinges are present and functional, although some of the small nails are loose from age. The front hook-style latch is also present and attached with an old nail; it is somewhat loose but does engage the front catch.
The box and contents show considerable age, wear, scratches, paint loss, oxidation, staining and evidence of childhood use. No attempt has been made to restore or refinish the chest. Please examine all photographs carefully for condition and contents.
Sold AS IS as a vintage collectible and/or for restoration. Everything pictured is included.
I have been selling on for over 16 years with 100% positive response. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe every vintage item so buyers can purchase with confidence. Please review all photos as they are considered part of the description.
