A LITTLE NAVY HISTORY FROM THE SELLER
I served in the U.S. Navy for eight years, from 1982 to 1990. I spent four years aboard the submarine tender USS Proteus (AS-19) and also served aboard the USS David R. Ray (DD-971), a Spruance-class destroyer. I even spent a couple of weeks aboard the USS Nimitz (CVN-68)—which was just way too big of a ship for me!
I also spent four years on shore duty at NAS Miramar, including work with VAW-110, an E-2C radar squadron, and cargo planes.
My Navy experiences gave me plenty of memories, stories, and friendships, and they inspired me to write a book called Navy Fun.
