A vintage heavily embossed metal box made in West Germany, circa 1960s–1980s, confirmed by the piece’s own stamped mark. The lid and sides are decorated in dense repoussé relief featuring cherub figures amid scrolling acanthus leaves and floral vines, bordered by a continuous scalloped and floral trim. The interior is bright polished metal. This type of embossed tin box was originally produced as decorative commercial packaging in Germany, designed to hold confections before being kept and repurposed as a keepsake or display box.
The underside carries a circular stamp reading “CONTAINER MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY” — the “Western Germany” wording confirms production during the pre-reunification West German period, with this piece’s styling placing it circa 1960s–1980s. Measures approximately 12 x 9 x 2.5 inches. Excellent condition, shows minor signs of age consistent with its era, no dents, splits, or significant wear to the embossing.
