Vintage advertising postcard for Walrath & Sherwood Lumber Co. featuring a woman in a wide-brimmed hat holding a rifle. This unique promotional piece includes a humorous poem about lumber, pine, fir, and shingles, styled as a "talk to you" from a company representative. The reverse side lists the company's offerings, including Idaho, Tenn., and Ark. red cedar posts and poles, with locations in Prescott, Ark., Omaha, and Seattle, Wash. Printed by National Photograph Co., Chicago. A fascinating piece of early 20th-century industrial marketing and Americana ephemera.
