For your consideration, I present this Vintage Vic Moran “The Bubble Bank” coin bank, manufactured in Bradford, Pennsylvania.
This charming mid-century novelty savings bank features a die-cut fawn/deer figure enclosed beneath a large clear glass globe, mounted on a turned wooden base marked “A LITTLE DOE.”
The reverse of the deer features the original “Money Meter,” which allows the owner to estimate the amount saved according to the height of the accumulated coins. The underside retains the original Vic Moran Bubble Bank instruction and patent label, including directions for removing and replacing the glass globe.
The bank appears substantially original and complete, including:
• Original glass globe
• Turned wooden base with “A LITTLE DOE” lettering
• Original illustrated deer/fawn Money Meter insert
• Original underside Vic Moran manufacturer/instruction label
• Original rubber retaining balls/feet associated with the globe mechanism
The cardboard deer shows age-related wear, including edge wear, creasing and small areas of loss, particularly around the lower portion. The wooden base has normal age and handling wear. Glass shows age-related surface wear/soiling but appears very presentable. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
