RARE VINTAGE SOLID 14K GOLD COMBINATION WRITING SET (USED)
Includes Original Velvet "Sixty-Four" Presentation Case & Extra Pencil Lead
Up for sale is a magnificent, luxury 1940s vintage combination writing set featuring an ultra-rare, premium solid gold mechanical pencil alongside an Eversharp "Fifth Avenue" presentation fountain pen. This set offers an incredible blend of historical antique value, mechanical utility, and substantial intrinsic precious metal weight.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a vintage, pre-owned estate set showing signs of age and use. Buyers are requested to inspect all photos carefully to evaluate cosmetic details before purchasing.1. THE HIGHLIGHT: SOLID 14K GOLD MECHANICAL PENCIL
* Material: Unmarked externally for a streamlined luxury aesthetic, this vintage American-made pencil has been fully tested and verified as Solid 14K Gold through and through (NOT gold-filled or plated).
* Condition: Pre-owned/Used condition with normal vintage wear and tear. There are noticeable dents and surface scratches consistent with age, primarily located on the pencil's cap, with some additional very small dings present on the lower body. Please review the close-up images to inspect these areas carefully.
* Bonus Included: This pencil comes accompanied by a supply of extra vintage replacement lead.2. THE PEN: EVERSHARP "FIFTH AVENUE" 64 FOUNTAIN PEN
* Material: Features a Solid 14K Gold Cap paired with a classic black barrel body.
* CRITICAL CONDITION NOTE: The original pocket tension clip on the solid gold pen cap has broken off and is completely missing (leaving a prominent rectangular slot at the top crown as shown in the close-up photos).
* Mechanical Condition: The ink inside the fountain pen is completely dried up. The internal mechanism is currently untested, though it may be possible to be professionally restored to full writing condition by a vintage pen specialist.
* Value Profile: While the pen is mechanically and cosmetically compromised for a pure fountain pen purist, the cap itself remains Solid 14K Gold, retaining exceptional baseline material value for parts harvesting, professional repair, or raw precious metal weight.3. THE PRESENTATION CASE
* Comes packaged inside its original deep maroon velvet Eversharp "Sixty-Four" clamshell box with the iconic gold satin script lining. The box hinges operate well and snap shut firmly.
