Up for sale is a fantastic piece of authentic American restaurant history: a vintage mid-century (1950s-1960s) Horn & Hardart Automat Dolphin Spout Paperweight / Display Casting.
This piece features the iconic, highly stylized Art Nouveau "Florentine Dolphin" face that adorned the milk-glass vending walls of the famous coin-operated Automats in New York and Philadelphia.
Unlike the massive, hollow commercial plumbing spigots used to pour coffee, this rare version was purposefully produced as a scaled-down, solid miniature desktop souvenir or corporate executive gift. It features beautiful, crisp scrollwork detailing along the profiles and a striking, undisturbed vintage gray patina.
