A lovely, very near mint condition, mid-century Relpo 6024 “Christmas Holly Girl” planter is offered here. This vase stands 7.25 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It features a glossy white ceramic finish with hand-painted details, including the girl’s vibrant red lined cape with green holly and red berry accents. This well-kept piece is in excellent vintage condition, with very light evidence of use on its bottom and inside its well. It is completely intact, without visible paint loss, and devoid of chips, cracks, or crazing. Its base is clearly marked with its seller (Relpo), item number (6024), and country of origin (Japan).
History - Relpo was a mid-20th-century importer and distributor of decorative ceramics. It operated as a division of the Reliable Glassware and Pottery Company founded in Chicago, Illinois, in 1933. Its Relpo division, launched in the 1950’s, imported ceramic pottery and novelty items, such as this planter, from Japan. Vintage collectors prize this brand’s stylized ceramic lady head and holiday themed vases.
The vase will be well-packaged and sent at the seller’s expense.
