This original Quaker Stretcher Company Security Officer Guard badge is an exceptionally rare piece of Kenosha, Wisconsin industrial history dating back to the 1940s era. Quaker Stretcher Co. was a respected manufacturer best known for producing household curtain stretchers and related products during the height of Kenosha’s booming factory and manufacturing years.
Operating near 60th Street in Kenosha, the company occupied part of the industrial complex that later became associated with the American Motors Corporation (AMC). Before the original factory buildings were demolished in 1962, Quaker Stretcher relocated operations to Antioch, Illinois, making surviving company memorabilia increasingly scarce today.
Unlike standard employee pieces, original Security Officer badges from smaller regional factories are extremely difficult to find and were produced in far smaller quantities.
