Offered from Vintage House of Screen is an original vintage Pusser’s Rum Royal Navy-style copper ½-gill rum measure, commemorating the historic British warship HMS Warrior 1860.This distinctive nautical collectible was produced by Pusser’s Rum as a replica of the traditional measures associated with the Royal Navy’s historic daily rum ration, commonly known as the sailor’s “tot.”The front of the measure is stamped:GI ½ LL

1860while the underside carries the distinctive oval PUSSER’S RUM trademark. The piece features a copper exterior, contrasting lined interior and traditional loop-style handle.The 1860 date does not represent the manufacture date of this particular piece. Rather, it commemorates HMS Warrior, the celebrated Royal Navy ironclad launched in 1860. The modern commercial Pusser’s Rum company was established in 1979 after founder Charles Tobias obtained permission and blending information from the British Admiralty to commercially recreate the historic Royal Navy rum.This example was therefore produced considerably later and is best regarded as a vintage Pusser’s nautical collectible rather than an original 19th-century Royal Navy measure.Pusser’s produced these replica measures bearing the names of various historic Royal Navy ships, making this HMS Warrior example particularly appealing to collectors of Royal Navy, maritime, naval, Pusser’s Rum and historic ship memorabilia.The measure is in good vintage pre-owned condition with visible age-related patina, oxidation, surface marks, discoloration and general wear consistent with its age and previous display/use.
