Up for sale is a rare, highly collectible Pre-WWII Baby-Mylflam semi-automatic petrol pocket lighter set. This is a complete estate find, featuring the lighter alongside its exceptionally rare original factory box and multilingual instruction sheet.
Mylflam lighters (produced by Heinrich Maltner in Offenbach, Germany) are legendary among tobacciana collectors for their high-quality engineering and unique mechanical charm. Because the miniature \"Baby\" variants were premium personal items, finding a surviving matching set with original paperwork is incredibly uncommon.
Historical Markings & Authenticity:
• Bottom Stamp: Clearly engraved with \"BABY-MYLFLAM\"
• Patent Markings: Stamped \"D.R.P.\" (Deutsches Reichs Patent), establishing its production in Germany prior to or during World War II (circa late 1930s to 1945).
• International Export Marks: Also features international protection stamps: \"Brit. Patent\" and \"Brevete S.G.D.G.\" (French patent).
Included in this Bundle:
• 1x Baby-Mylflam Lighter: Sleek, compact metal casing featuring its iconic mechanical swing-arm thumb mechanism.
• 1x Original Storage Box: Styled with matching period branding.
• 1x Original Instruction Manual: Fragile, authentic yellowed instruction sheet (\"Mode d\'emploi\") written in multiple languages explaining operation and maintenance.
Condition:
• Cosmetic: Vintage, pre-owned condition with a beautiful natural patina and signs of age appropriate for a 80+ year old historical piece. Please view the high-resolution photos carefully to judge finish wear.
• Mechanical: The thumb mechanism actuates and spins cleanly. (Seller note: Please mention here whether it currently produces a strong spark when clicked or if the flint needs replacing). The flint may need to be replaced.
• Shipping Notice: In compliance with postal and safety regulations, this lighter will be shipped completely drained of all lighter fluid / petrol fuel.
