This is a beautiful, vintage, hand-turned ebonite Nakaya Writer fountain pen with an Aka Tamenuri urushi finish. Nakaya was founded in 1999 and its earliest models featured a snap cap, which was later followed by a threaded cap. This early snap cap model likely dates to the early 2000s. The pen is a smooth writer with moderate response, but ultimately very smooth for an extra fine nib. The cap's seal is tight and the pen features a beautiful deep red lacquer. The pen comes with its original kimono sleeve. This model is slightly narrower than today's Writer models. Feel free to reach out with questions!
