Was told this was part of a communication system from a NORAD Base that allowed the command center to coordinate air operations with local civilian control towers.
It has a few interesting settings (Buttons) on it such as:SCRAMBLE - Explains itselfFIGHTER RECOVERY - As it saysARTCC -an instant, dedicated hot-line to Federal Aviation Administration.DMQ - If a controller notices that the radar data on their screen is lagging, corrupted, displaying duplicate "ghost" aircraft, or losing track of the fighter jets, they hit the DQM button.
All the buttons "Push" in and rebound and all three of the compound dials turn.I have no idea what does or does not work on this electronic wise.
I recommend you do your own research as I can not "confirm" what I was told by the collector as to where it was gotten from. However, my 'online' research suggests that this would definitely be something that would be located at a NORAD or other Military air defense command center. I was also able to confirm via manufacturing date codes on rotating dials. Of the ones I was able to look up they were manufactured in 1981. They could have been upgrades to an older panel or the panel could have been made after that as components would of had to been made before it was assembled.
I have no clue on how to price it so if you don't think it's a good deal just make an offer.Don't worry, I can't be insulted, I can always just say no or just not respond.
If you have any other information on this please feel free to share, Thanks.
This will be well packaged for shipping.
Look over the Photos, any questions please ask before buying as with any item(s) please zoom up and notice condition.
Thank you for Looking.
I am downsizing so things will be priced to sell! Will be listing parts, hardware, HVAC, electrical, tools, garage items, man cave, steampunk, old vintage bits and pieces, swap meet stuff.....I will combine shipping. Fastest way and to ensure you get the items is to just buy them. I will see they were bought by the same person and I will refund any overages in shipping, usually the same day if not by the next. You can also send me a message to confirm. Look at my response, I have done this many times and I am not going to ruin my rating for a one time grab of a few shipping dollars.
I use recycled shipping materials when feasible and I reserve the right to switch shippers to enhance service as I have seen as much as 6 days difference in est delivery dates. If this is an issue, you MUST let me know when you buy the item(s) as there is little I can do after they are on their way.
