Vintage Japanese Shouju 松寿 Ichimatsu Doll 16" Kimono Fan Original Box. Beautiful vintage Japanese ningyō display doll by Shouju (松寿), presented in an elaborate traditional kimono and holding a decorative folding fan featuring cranes.
The original presentation box is marked in Japanese and includes 松寿作, identifying the doll with the Shouju doll workshop/tradition. The doll also retains its original black display base, hanging tag, wooden calligraphy plaque with red seals, and original presentation box.
The underside of the base is marked K-23.
The doll measures approximately 16 inches tall and features detailed traditional styling, including an elaborate coiffure with decorative hair ornaments, finely painted facial features, individually formed hands and fingers, layered patterned textiles, a richly woven obi, flowing sleeves, and a gold-toned crane-decorated fan.
The rear of the doll is especially detailed, with a substantial black-and-gold obi featuring traditional woven motifs.
Condition is excellent for its age. The doll appears to have been carefully stored in its original box and shows very little display wear. The face, hands, hair, kimono, obi, fan, and accessories present beautifully. The original box and packing materials show some normal age/storage wear. Please review all photos carefully for exact condition.
