Vintage International Harvester Advertising Keychain
Metro-West Motor Co. — Historic Hillsboro, Oregon Dealership Ephemera
Overview
For sale is a highly collectible vintage advertising keychain distributed by Metro-West Motor Company (1952 - 1973), a historic International Harvester dealership formerly located on Tualatin Valley Highway in Hillsboro, Oregon. The obverse face of the circular pendant features the iconic International Harvester (IH) corporate logo, set crisp and clear against an off-white background, bordered by a vibrant royal blue bezel frame.
The reverse face bears sharp, four-line printed dealership information including the dealership's phone number 648-0757 (back in the days before mandatory 10-digit dialing). Mechanically, this vintage token utilizes a modular design featuring a removable, spring-tempered wire tension ring that seats securely into internal side channels molded within the blue resin casing.
Provenance & Backstory
This keychain has been in my family for roughly fifty-five years. It was originally acquired by my late father in the early-1970s, when he bought a Scout utility vehicle there. Kept safely in storage for decades, this piece of Pacific Northwest automotive heritage is ready for a new home with an International Harvester collector, Scout restorer, or regional dealership historian.
