The lid depicts a romantic classical figural scene surrounded by flowers, foliage, scrollwork and ornate decorative detailing. Additional raised pastoral scenes and floral ornamentation continue around the sides.The hinged interior is lined in black velvet/felt and retains its original “Genuine Incolay Stone – Handcrafted U.S.A.” label.Especially nice for collectors, this piece also includes its original Incolay Studios literature/paperwork. The accompanying literature describes the Incolay Collection, its handcrafted production, and the composition of Incolay stone from a combination of minerals including onyx, malachite, carnelian and jade. The paperwork identifies Incolay Studios Inc., San Fernando, California.According to the original literature, the decorative design was selected for limited reproduction from an earlier sculpture dating circa 1820–1869.Approximate Measurements:

Very good pre-owned condition with light age-appropriate surface wear. The intricate raised relief remains beautifully detailed, the hinge functions properly, and the interior lining and original maker label are present.
