Large vintage Goodyear Tyres porcelain enamel advertising sign, featuring the famous Goodyear Wingfoot trademark and bold GOODYEAR lettering.
This impressive old automotive advertising piece has a rich cobalt/deep blue vitreous enamel background with large cream/yellow GOODYEAR lettering. Behind the lettering is the distinctive outlined Wingfoot emblem, one of the most recognizable historic trademarks associated with Goodyear.
Blue and yellow Wingfoot branding is documented on vintage Goodyear automotive and tyre advertising, including original period porcelain service-station signs.
IMPORTANT — CUT / INCOMPLETE SIGN
This is NOT a complete original-size sign.
The surviving section currently measures approximately:
52 × 30 inches
The metal sign has been cut/trimmed at BOTH the left and right sides, meaning the present 52-inch width is not its original factory width.
This alteration is clearly disclosed and should be considered part of the item\'s present condition.
Despite being cut down, the most desirable central advertising elements survive remarkably well. The large GOODYEAR name remains almost completely visible, together with the prominent Wingfoot graphic.
Classic Goodyear Automobilia
The Wingfoot symbol has a long association with Goodyear and is particularly sought after by collectors of:
Automobilia • Petroliana • Tyre Advertising • Garage Signs • Service Station Advertising • Porcelain Signs • Automotive Memorabilia • Vintage Industrial Décor
Original period Goodyear porcelain advertising is documented in both the 1920s and 1940s, including examples using blue, yellow and the Wingfoot trademark.
Based on the style and construction, I would describe this example conservatively as circa 1930s–1940s, rather than assign an unsupported exact year.
Its large 52 × 30-inch surviving size, bold colours, distressed original surface and instantly recognizable branding give it excellent visual presence for a garage, workshop, automotive collection, café, showroom or industrial interior.
