For your consideration, I present this vintage German “Jagdgeschwader Richthofen” embroidered cuff title / Ärmelband, associated with the German aviation tradition honoring famed WWI fighter ace Manfred von Richthofen, the “Red Baron.”
The cuff title features “Jagdgeschwader Richthofen” embroidered in Gothic/Fraktur-style lettering on a dark navy/black wool-type cloth backing.
The reverse displays the embroidery construction, including the light-colored woven backing behind the lettering. The piece measures approximately 17–18 inches in overall length; please refer to the photograph with the measuringtape for the exact dimensions.
This piece came to me as a German military/Luftwaffe collectible and has characteristics of an older manufactured example.
I have not had it professionally authenticated and therefore cannot guarantee its exact age or wartime originality. It is being offered exactly as pictured, and buyers should examine all photographs carefully and make their own determination regarding ageauthenticity.
Overall condition is very good for a vintage textile, with expected age/storage wear, minor surface debris/lint and some loose threads. No attempt has been made to clean or restore it.
