For sale is a vintage Georgian inlaid plume flatware or knife box. I believe the wood is mahogany. It contains 9 felt-lined compartments and is in wonderful shape. The felt has no tears, stains, or bare spots. The outer box has a beautifully smooth finish and the inlaid plume is in perfect shape. The sturdy hinges are solid brass as well as the screws. The base dimensions of the box are 10"x10". The maximum height is 14-1/4" and the minimum height is 9-1/4". The inner depth of the lid is approximately 2-1/2" deep and the compartments vary from 5-1/2 to 9-1/2" deep, which doesn't include the lids' depth. Please see the photos.
