Here is a rare vintage Deauville box presentation set. The set was made by Richard Hudnut in the early 1920s. The box has a blue velvet top with a colorful Art Deco pattern on the sides, with a gold-colored bottom. It was painted with a glittery look. When opened, it is lined with gorgeous pale yellow satin. Under the satin lid is marked Deauville. Inside is a glass perfume bottle with a brass filigree pattern. On the bottom is a label that is mostly worn away, but I can read " Naturelle Perfume. Also included is a loose powder satin-covered Naturelle box without powder. It is very elegantly covered with silk. The top has a woman at her vanity. The box is a bright blue silk with a gold bottom and label that reads "Deauville Naturelle Richard Hudnut". Inside is a satin gold top that opens to the powder inside. All of the gold is textured paper. It is also an Art Deco blue cloisonné tango chain vanity with a powder and rouge compact and a matching lipstick holder on a chain. All of the silver is without wear or marks. There is a clear mirror with powder and rouge wells with puffs. Around the rouge well is signed Deauville. There is dark wear to the top. The lipstick's blue color has darkened somewhat, with some black at the edges. The box is in very good condition. With some wear at the gold edges. The velvet is still soft, and the artwork is mostly complete. The satin inside is in excellent condition. Measurements are 8 inches long and 4 1/2 inches wide, and 2 1/2 inches deep. The accessories are in very good condition.
