Beautiful vintage Chelsea Bird style cachepot featuring a wonderfully decorative hand-painted chinoiserie design of exotic pheasant-like birds surrounded by flowering branches, blossoms and foliage.

The soft color palette is especially lovely, with muted greens, warm ochre and rust florals accented by pale lavender-pink borders at the flared rim and foot. The gracefully flared form gives the piece the look of a classic decorative jardiniere.

The glazed surface has an attractive crackle finish that adds wonderful character and an aged appearance. The decoration remains remarkably fresh with no noticeable paint loss.
