CHD Motor Oil - 1qt
Found a box of these while cleaning out a barn. Price is per can.
Due to the age, these are obviously not in perfect condition, but they are unopened, sealed, and contain the original oil. Scuffs and a possible small dent in the can is to be expected, but nothing that takes away from anything.
Please ask any and all questions before buying. Below is what AI “guessed” were the details of these cans of oil. Please do your own research as I cannot guarantee if this is accurate or not.
• “Formerly Cetron HD Motor Oil” is the key. Boron Oil Company filed the CHD trademark for motor oil on December 11, 1970, and the “formerly” line is what a company prints only for the first year or two after a rebrand. So this is very likely 1971–1973 production.
• Boron and Cetron were both Standard Oil of Ohio (Sohio) motor oil brands, with Boron Oil Co. handling Sohio’s markets outside Ohio.
• The ZIP code (Cleveland, Ohio 44115) puts it after mid-1963, when ZIP codes started.
• MIL-L-45199B is a late-1960s military spec, and API service CB/CD is consistent with that era.
